Let's give it a whirl!

I am up late again...no surprise there. I have the worst sleeping habits ever. Last night, while I couldn't sleep, I was up reading blogs of people that I come across...and to be honest, they aren't so interesting-or are they, since I read them? My point is...I never have kept one because I have the most boring life ever-but now I decided-so what! I am going to keep a blog by golly!

Today was Christmas-and it was okay. It was good in the fact that I got to rest and do some odds and ends stuff around the house. But, it was also sad because it is the first time I have ever spent Christmas away from my family. It was good to spend some time with Barry though. We watched Christmas movies on TV, snacked...I cooked a big breakfast. For dinner we had lasagna and garlic cresent rolls. Easy and little clean up!

I was somewhat productful on my day off. I cleaned out the spice cabinet, the pantry, did a few loads of laundry, cleaned out our closet, washed sheets, swept the kitchen and did a few loads of dishes. Of which I hate by the way.

I did manage to watch It's a Wonderful Life last night-which is a family tradition of ours.
So...this year Christmas was a little different. Nice...but different. I pray that our Christmas' are full of the traditions that children bring very soon.

I am going to go figure out how to add photos to this now...

Red River, NM Arrival Day

Wow,what a trip. It was only 8 hours but it seemed to be the longest car ride of my life. Once we got into the mountains, there were some beautiful views. Then we hit rain and it started to get dark, which made the trip down to the base of the mountain not so fun. But, if you know how I stress Barry out when we travel...then you will understand when he said "You did good". I managed to keep my panic on the inside! Once we got into higher elevation (9000 ft) we both started feeling the effects. I have had a headache since about 6p.m. last night and I was so very light headed, weak and nautious when we got here. Everything looked like it was in a daze. We ate breakfast at 9a.m. in Henrietta before we left, and other than animal crackers that was all we had had all day! We were starving when we got here.

Rachel Ray would be so proud of me. While we were checking in I befriended the owner and he recommended several good restaurants around here. The one we chose was called Timbers and it was very "lodgey". I know that isn't a word, but you get my drift. All of the inside was wood and we were seated right next to the fireplace. So very warm and cozy. We ate, checked out a few brochures and then came to our room...which I may say is wonderful. We were both so excited like night what neither of us wanted to go to bed,but were were exhausted and were in bed by 9! Prolly the reason I am up at 6 on my laptop next to the fire...

I am ready to be able to see where we are in the light! Our room is on the second floor and it overlooks the lift, and the river...right now it is raining and I want it to stop!

Travel day was an experience to say the least. Can't say I am looking forward to the longest drive home....but at least I get to sleep!

Till next time...
